State of "The Art"

A whirlwind of activity and excitement describes the art room at Elmont Elementary. Children come to art class once a week for 45 minutes. They explore many areas while using the creative process. The art room is a place where we foster connections in learning. We often link classroom learning and art topics.

"Art Has More Than One Right Answer"

"Art has more than one right answer" is a phrase we use to encourage divergent thinking and promote self-esteem. Children take chances, which we reward in a variety of ways. Class critique, school displays, and local exhibits provide opportunities to see, discuss, and experience the artistic process.
