Physical education in Hanover County gives students the knowledge, processes, and skills they need to engage in meaningful physical activity both in the present and for a lifetime through moderate to vigorous physical activity. Physical education instruction leads to personal enjoyment, challenge, satisfaction, and a health-enhancing level of personal fitness for our students.
Elmont physical education teaches students basic manipulative and movement principles that promote active lifestyles. Students participate in a range of activities in my class that promote physical, mental, emotional, and social growth where we encourage teamwork and communication skills, shaping them to become influential members of the community. We introduce students to basic health principles that encourage healthy choices, healthy living, and most importantly, active movement.
Students should come prepared for movement with proper footwear and clothing. Proper footwear should consist of closed toed shoes that will stay secure on the student's feet. Students should wear appropriate and secure clothing. Avoid wearing shoes like crocks/flip flops/shoes with heals and clothing like dresses/skirts or overly baggy pants/shirts. Students that are not dressed appropriately may be asked to sit out of an activity for their safety. For questions or clarification, please contact Mr. Campbell.
